Discussing the Future Design

of Downtown Sandy Spring (May 25)

Montgomery County is sponsoring a discussion about the future of downtown Sandy Spring.  As residents of this area, your input is requested!

The first meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at 7:00 PM at the Ross Boddy Community Center (18529 Brooke Road).  The meeting will be facilitated by Lauren Adkins, Assistant Director for Fields Services, National Trust Main Street Center.  Attendees will be asked to provide input on what they like and don’t like about downtown Sandy Spring and their ideas for the future.

Another meeting is being scheduled for property and business owners in the Sandy Spring downtown area to be held at a later date.

People who have attended the previous meetings are invited to a follow up meeting on Monday, June 7 to discuss the input that has been received and to work towards a combined vision that will be used by the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission to create a neighborhood plan for Sandy Spring.

Please RSVP by Friday, May 21 with email to

olga.bernstein@montgomerycountymd.gov

if you plan to attend the meeting on May 25.

All questions or concerns regarding the meeting or the process should be addressed to Natalie Cantor, Director, Mid-County Region Center, at 240-777-8103 or by email to natalie.cantor@montgomerycountymd.gov.

We encourage you to attend and give your ideas about the future of downtown Sandy Spring.
